Anyone can organise a local event. Simply register your event by posting on Twitter using the hash tags #AussieTweetup followed by the #location (substitute your town/city for the location).
Then publicise your event by sending out a tweet something like this:
#AussieTweetup #Perth Join us 2pm at Kings Park Cafe (Opp Frasers Restaurant) on Anzac Day, 25/4 Pls RT.
Then at your event take a video of everyone there and get them to talk on the video, introducing themselves and their Twitter name.
Then simply post your video to YouTube.com or similar site and post the link @womencan with the hash tag #AussieTweetup. The video will then be uploaded to this blog and added to the poll where people will be voting for the best Tweetup.
Try and make your video fun and a good representation of your Tweetup. This is your opportunity to show off your corner of the country, so make the most of it.
All videos must be up by 2nd May, 2009 to be considered for the competition.
The video that has the most votes by 31 May 2009 wins the competition and will receive a professionally designed badge that can be posted on websites or twitter pages stating they are the "Champion Australia-Wide Anzac Day Tweetup Winner", as well as bragging rights in the Twittersphere.
Here is a sample of a tweetup video to give you some ideas...
Looking forward to seeing all the Tweetups around Australia!!!
